Small pension and decent health insurance.

Cons

Taxpayers think you have it made. Many unqualified, incompetent Managers, who got their position by knowing someone or helping someone get elected. Pay is nowhere near on par with private sector. No annual raises or even COLA. Locked into your salary when you enter, while others get hired in at much higher pay over the years.

Cons

Corruption, unethical behavior across the board, more concerned about money than families we serve, no room to advance unless someone retires or dies (even then they have the replacement already selected from the favorites), expected to devote your life to the job
