Pros
When trained properly, you learn a lot of good things. It's almost impossible to lose this job. Good way to get your foot in the door of the automotive industry. If you applied, trust me you got the job. No interview really. A lot of freedom.
Cons
90% of the time, people aren't trained well or they don't care about the job. So there are people slacking off on things and getting paid as much as you when you're actually doing things like you're supposed to. Pay is NOT hourly. It is piecework. Which is $25/car. NO MATTER WHAT. So say you got a van that is torched and took 2 days, and the guy next to you has a super clean car that took 20 minutes. You both still get $25. They are full of empty promises. Have a day to request off? Haha good luck. Only if it is approved by some guy who is never even there, let alone know your name. You get treated like you are replaceable. I was manager. Spent a year there, asked for a raise and got it. But a new manager got hired to replace another manager and got paid more than me right off the bat. There is no system. They play favorites. Hours aren't miserable but you work more than 40. Was told overtime was $6 I guess since it's piecework? I don't know, but there's that.
