Pros

Firstly, your peers in the 'trenches' are really fantastic people. For the most part they are highly intelligent, really generous with their time, and all around wonderful people. Other good reasons to work here: Free coffee Free soda Free snacks Bathrooms Clean office environment Professional Good 401k Good legal plan benefits Employee Stock Purchase Program

Cons

Poor pay and poor bonus (Annual Incentive Plan for non PS, is 7.5%) Poor expectation management from managers, poor at setting goals Get it done or get out attitude Culture of accountability translates to culture of finger pointing Poor business process and almost no implementation of CMMI whatsoever Antiquated ideologies about research and development, good senior management, terrible middle management Antiquated products with bloated features and poor architecture Management has severe tunnel vision, most development managers have little experience actually developing, employees are rated subjectively Fiefdom culture, every senior leader has their own little castle which they run their own way, 'fights' happen, lots of political overhead. Promotions are non existent, yearly raises are consistently 2%, I'm pretty sure that when you account for average inflation, that means you're making less than you did the year before.

Pros

Good pay Benefits are really good (flex PTO), summer Fridays, birthday PTO, etc Remote

Cons

Terrible ELT who lacks clear strategy. Very cut throat and there are few people who are actually willing to help you out. Marketing leadership some of the worst, not all are bad but most are. Work/Life balance isn’t terrible but the general mood and atmosphere will leave you feeling uneasy. Multiple layoffs, at least two a year.

Pros

Pay was fair for new employee.

Cons

This place is no more than a money suck by the current round of executives (4th CEO in ~7years) who are riding the downward spiral at more than 20x the income of mid-point salary of employees; it is an old, tired IT firm in steep decline. They only have 700 customers, down from 1200 in 2018. This company once had a $13B market cap; current market cap is $3B, but executives remain, board remains and no strategy to revitalize or transition. They have layoffs three times a year, always just under the number that requires public notification, the severance packages now max out at 3 months. There is no career advancement. The best people have left, many pushed away due to high salaries, relative to company's finances but below industry norms.
