Pros

Pretty good base salary, CEO

Cons

Worst experience in my Sales career. Compensation plan is extremely hard to achieve, small percentage of inside sales team can achieve assisted sales goals. Leadership team lackes the ability to effectively communicate, motivate, provide strategy or resources. They tend to pick winners and losers among the group be giving prospective accounts. Classic micro-management with with to much time focused on non-selling activities. Very little career advancement.

Teradata Response

I’m sorry your experience with Teradata has been particularly negative. Sales environments are competitive by nature, ours is no different. With our new direction as a company, we’re reimagining how we sell to and support our customers. Compensation plans were designed in a way that one account could retire full quota, and AE’s have close to 10 accounts each. That being said, over 50% of our Commercial Team met or exceeded their plans last year! There are plenty of opportunities for career advancement at Teradata, and we’re working to better promote them. Our Commercial sales teams have a portfolio of like-customers in like-industries enabling an AE to gain depth in the business needs of our customers. We encourage you to discuss goals for your career growth with your manager. Thank you for your thoughts.

Pros

A couple employees who actually know what they are doing and act in the interest of the customer (though most of those have left and some fear they will be laid off)

Cons

Many sales teams wait for the semi-annual floor sweeps, so efforts around selling analytics are useless. Company seemingly lacks strategy on how to embrace or compete with open-source competition that is eating its lunch. See above, and replace "open-source" with "cloud" Managers change metrics without warning then apply them without scrutiny. Layoffs are a regular occurrence, and they are no longer about removing weak performers.

Pros

It might be ok for beginners to learn a few things.

Cons

Old technologies to manage operations. Old implementations are pretty boring to invest time and learn when it has no value to career. All old employees not will to grow or leave for better opportunities and repeating the same work for many years. Frequent layoffs
