Pros
Salary plus commission unlike a lot of sales positions that are commission only.
Cons
The list is long but, I will start with the fact that you are to find your own leads, have no administrative or managerial support and the service is so poor that you lose most of the customers you pick up. Although you are considered an Outside Sales Person, they require you to come in for daily 8 a.m. meetings which don't allow you to get out in the field, where you are expected to visit at least six customers a day, until 10 a.m. You have to write your own proposals as there is no administrative support, which will take up your evening through 9-10 p.m.. Did I mention that there are also random afternoon or evening meetings that are called at the last minute? Telephone calls from the Branch Manager at 5:30 -6:30 p.m. (yes, on the days that began with the 8:00 a.m. meeting). You also have to set up your service appointments by contacting the service manager directly and he is unlikely to take your call in a timely manner, if at all. Oh, service technicians are so overbooked until they make the decision to skip your account and you have NO recourse with the service manager. There is no commission on accounts after the first year and if your commission exceeds a certain amount, they split up your payments. They only contribute to health insurance benefits of employee so, if you have a family, you will be unable to afford health insurance for them as premiums run about $1100.00 a month.
