Pros

Benefits / Location / Teammates

Cons

Had a solid experience when I joined but the Bank has gradually gone in the wrong direction since Holmes took over. Unrealistic expectations with hazy directives and no guidelines/framework to fall back on. Cart before the horse-type situation across the organization. Workplace environment was non-existent. Breakroom in shambles majority of the time, dirty, no paper towels, trash and food left out...the selfish nerve of some people to treat a workplace like their dumpster/home. Touted as the choice-employer of Texas but couldn't be further than the truth - be realistic! You can only fake it til you make it for so long. All the newsweek and media reporting about being #1 are obviously paid for, such a joke. They promote the IB and STARS program and don't recognize anyone doing the real day to day work behind the scenes. Do yourself a favor and apply @ Wachovia vs Texas Capital.

Pros

Everyone is not awful however people will do anything to stay off the naughty list and won’t make waves in fear of their jobs.

Cons

HR is incompetent. Most of the HRBPs act like high school girls. Everyone is passive aggressive and they want you to kiss up to them or they will run to the CHRO and put a bug in their ear to start a plan to get someone fired. This company has a lot of good, smart, innovative people but they hardly get exposure because their leaders steal their ideas and take everyone’s work as their own. Texas Capital Bank needs to gut their HR team and start over. Some are good but most are racism, lazy, rude, and like to act busy so they don’t have to do anything because they are in “meetings” all day everyday. Depending on who you are they let people get away with ANYTHING!! But if you are on the chopping block or a person of color anything can get you fired. They are good with it too. They don’t have real metrics the numbers they put out are FAKE! Survey info is fake or people don’t answer in fear they will be sought out and fired.

Pros

Most people (non-management) are friendly Front lobby security is nice and welcoming Free parking and sodas

Cons

There is no office desk space or meeting space and yet they require you to come in daily so you can have meetings from your phone. Upper management doesn't interact with their staff or get involved with project work even though they are the ones dictating the work. Hires and fires people just days short of meeting the 2 yr mark for 401k vestment. Many let go were also in line for a bonus, but I guess they couldn't let their execs go without their Christmas money first.
