Pros

Benefits and the people you work with are awesome. They follow the rules so there is no favortism.

Cons

State doesn't pay well enough for the type of work performed. Stressful job. Lots of work and pressure to meet timeliness and quality with the volume of your case load is not always possible.

Toxic Workforce Commission

Pros

The downtown main office is secure and I always felt safe. Many colleagues were nice. Its a typical state office environment.

Cons

IT management is toxic and it's not a good place to work. Too authoritarian and management relies too heavily on favorites as "yes men". Be careful to stay guarded and keep your head down. Too many petty inter-departmental squabbles make it a minefield to navigate.

Look elsewhere for better opportunities

Pros

Good, if someone was looking to gain experience and to see how lower level politics works in a state government.

Cons

Lack of growth and learning opportunities; non-existent career ladders and pay increases. Poor management, upper and lower levels.
