Pros

I've been here for 13 years and I have found that my experience here has been great. I have always been able to carve my own path and go where I wanted to be challenged. For the most part, management has worked with me to make these opportunities happen.

Cons

The change of ownership from UIC to Textron in 2007 took away many of the perks to working here from the benefits side of the house. The feeling that the people that work here as a family has all but disappeared. It can feel as if you are just another number in the eyes of Textron.

Pros

Great workforce at grass root level. Good tuition reimbursement program. First line managers seem to care about their teams.

Cons

Management decisions are based on fear and lack of quality information of what is really going on. There is a lot of spin. Lack of diversity in hiring, retention and opportunity.

Pros

For many years a good place to work with some great people.

Cons

The original company was sold to an investor, who then sold it and a couple other related defense companies to Textron. During this transition there was mandatory overtime for those working on contracts billed by the hour, way over budget/ Yet it apparently couldn't be stopped by the bureaucracy of the contract. If it wasn't illegal, it should be. After this transition period where the numbers were inflated for the sale to Textron, major contracts dried up, government spending went down, and the company slowly withered away with wave after wave of layoffs. The Overwatch wing was really never incorporated into the larger company.
