      No reward for extra work

      Pros

      Tuition reimbursement is way above industry standard. I love not being in a cube. Most of the coworkers are great.

      Cons

      Don't ever sign up for task lead/software lead/CAL positions. You'll take on a bunch more responsibility, more stress, and more overtime. Think you'll be rewarded come PMP time? Think again. And now that OT is uncompensated you'll feel like an even bigger sucker. I'm probably not the only SWE checking out dice at work these days. The matrix organization is awful.

      Pros

      pretty good job security so far, growing company even in a down market. interesting work and opportunity if you're not afraid of hard work. good people. meaningful work. decent new facilities.

      Cons

      kind of insane work schedule. get ready to work nights and weekends; maybe every weekend for months; sometimes you even have to work through holidays. poorly managed (run by aggies); kind of political.

      Overwatch Systems offers good entry level opportunities and provides a range of experience. Management is very competent, and respectful of employees. The company was motivated and hungry for growth.

      Cons

      Overwatch Systems offered low compensation and little room for job growth. Continued management changes and reorganizations created a tense and inconsistent work environment.
