Pros

Great growth opportunities, good salaries, and benefits. Lots of opportunities from professional jobs to hourly positions

Cons

Defense contractors rules and regulations. Some managers haven't got the message that the gold old boy ER is gone but most are quite good

No clear vision for future success

Pros

Good location in southwest Austin. If you're lucky, you occasionally get the opportunity to work on new things (IRAD). Great people to work with who become great network assets (many employees have left after being recruited by other former employees)

Cons

No insight into company's future past the next few weeks at a time. As a result, management direction is very reactive and not very proactive. Not able to do things to improve current products or processes unless you have "direct charge", but there's never enough time under the direct charge to improve existing items. Much of the work we've had lately has been limited to bug fixes the customer prioritizes, not too much new features or fixing internally discovered bugs. Many coworkers have left for other jobs, leaving the rest of us scrambling. Extremely hard to get a raise or promotion unless you already are in a level of management.

Many great employees but management has far to go.

Pros

Decent working conditions and hours. Employees are definitely their best asset. Salaries are average for the industry but raises have fallen off in the last couple of years.

Cons

Too bad management doesn't realize that employees made the company what it was and is. No loyalty to long term employees. Many feel like they are being or have been forced out. Very low employee morale.
