Pros

Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Nice coffees!

Cons

Slow and painful admin. There are several initiatives to make it feel like a university (from the researcher's point of view) but they do not work well...

Full of clerks

Pros

Some interesting projects despite a level of disorganization I had never experienced.

Cons

Clerks with fancy titles such as project or partnership managers do little to nothing yet behave as owners of the institute. It is quite disgraceful. Some of them tell researchers that the Turing Institute director of the institute does not engage with the research community of the Turing, that tells so much about it and it was also my experience but clerks don’t even realize how bad is to disclose it openly.
