Pros

I now know to never live at a property that is run by the Connor group

Cons

This was by far the worst company I have ever worked for. Toxic company culture where people get fired left and right if they don’t fit the “company culture”, horrible work life balance (get ready to work 9-10 hour days with no overtime), being powerless to actually help the residents who live there because the Connor group is too cheap to actually maintain their properties. Just know going into this, you aren’t working for an apartment management company; you’re working for a real estate investment firm, so bottom line you’re duping people into living in dumpy apartments so the Connor group can please their investors.

The Connor Group Response
5y
I am sorry to hear your experience working at The Connor Group was negative. Throughout the interview process, we strive to be extremely transparent about the high expectations and our unique culture. This is not an environment for everyone. We take great pride in offering our residents quality luxury apartments. Last year alone, we invested more than $20 million into capital improvement projects at our properties. We also regularly complete upgrades to make sure our product is top of the line. Also, if you were told to work overtime and were unpaid for this, I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the facts surrounding the situation so we can appropriately address this matter. Please call me directly at 937-350-3415. Thank you.

Pros

benefits package, work schedule, bonuses

Cons

For two weeks, I was being trained at 1660 Peachtree and I felt like I was learning a lot. After those two weeks, I was instructed to start going to Edge On The Beltline. That was when my training process lost its structure. I spent more time organizing their package room and doing administrative tasks than actual training. My entire first day was spent delivering large packages to residents and organizing the package closet. My entire second day was spent removing and adding packages to the concierge lockers. On multiple occasions, I was referred to as “the package girl” by members of the management team. When I vocalized my frustrations with my lack of training to my trainer, I was told that I could not be trained because business was slow. Instead of training me or giving me useful information, I was instructed to take packages to other nearby businesses, sort keys and sort mail that should have been delivered by postal employees. I reached out to the CEO's assistant and she responded by saying that he would not be able to speak with me because he was busy for the rest of the week. I am beyond disappointed with the way my entire situation was handled during my time with The Connor Group. I was recruited for this position. I left a stable full time position (with benefits) to start what I was led to believe to be a promising new career and now I am unemployed during the holidays in the middle of a pandemic.
