Horrible Experience

Pros

Working with people at the complex and actually becoming part of their "family". Giving customer service and always going the extra mile for someone.....even though it was frowned upon by upper management

Cons

Constant pressure of sales when they do no advertising to help! They make you post 30 ads a day on craigslist just for your property. No excuses if you do not....you could have rented 5 apartments that day and they would still be upset you did not spam craigslist. Never hit any bonuses because they make your goals insane!

Pros

Decent pay for senior level executives

Cons

The environment is extremely intense and, at times, toxic. Goals are often unrealistic and create a culture driven more by fear and pressure than sustainable performance. Leadership frequently promotes a “win at all costs” mentality, where aggressive management styles, public criticism, and even cursing at employees can feel normalized. There is a very heavy level of micromanagement at nearly every level of leadership, leaving little room for autonomy, creativity, or innovation. Even experienced leaders are expected to follow a very rigid playbook, with minimal opportunity to implement new ideas or strategies to drive results. Accountability is heavily emphasized, which can be positive in the right environment, but it often feels one-sided. Leaders are expected to own every outcome, while upper management may shift blame or protect themselves when things go wrong. The culture can feel more political than collaborative, and turnover tends to be high because of it. Additionally, much of the performance culture appears heavily incentive-driven rather than built around genuine team development, customer experience, or long-term selling behaviors. This can create short-term results, but not always a healthy or motivating work environment. Avoid at all costs!!!!!

The Connor Group Response
2mo
We disagree with the way our culture and leadership are described in this review. The Connor Group is a high-performance, high-accountability organization with ambitious goals, direct feedback and clear expectations. It can be a dramatically different environment compared to some cultures, but we have built our business around growth, ownership and results. We empower leaders to make decisions and drive results. Our leadership in the field and at our Central Support Office exists to provide additional structure and resources, not to limit autonomy. While we respect any person’s right to share feedback, this review does not reflect the culture or leadership standards we work hard to uphold every day.
