Pros

Overall pleasant place to work with some company perks (free lunches, book fairs, gifts, etc.). I also had a flexible (three, 12-hr. day schedule) which was nice -- but I'm not sure if it still exists.

Cons

Pay was somewhat lower than similar companies (despite the claims of HR!). I also didn't feel there was much room for career growth.

Pros

Friendly people, company is growing rapidly, no traffic (reverse commute), flex hours, floating holidays, cafeteria on campus, pay for exam materials and generous study hours

Cons

It is hard to see how quickly you will advance in this company. There is a high turnover rate for actuaries.

Great Company for Some

Pros

The CEO is very knowledgeable about the insurance industry and really wants the company to provide the best products and services. The company pays good and has nice benefits. Depending on what department you are in, there can be a lot of different roles to move to.

Cons

They are too focused on home office employees. There is not enough focus on providing the same opportunities for people in the field, like career growth and training classes. Not everything can be duplicated, but they could do better to make all employees feel included. It seems like men have a lot more opportunity than women. There are not many women leaders above middle management even though more women work there than men. Men move up a lot faster in the company. I think they are paid more than women too.
