Great place to learn with support from management

Pros

Colleagues are always willing to help when available. Management will answer all your questions. Days are busy as kids are challenging and fun and as schedules are full. Policy and procedures are well laid out within online manuals.

Cons

It is time consuming and tedious to get started at a school especially with scheduling, however supervisors relay their tips to lay groundwork. When it comes to practice, if you are new to pediatrics, it is a challenge to adopt treatment techniques to play therapy. Training is available but online manuals can at times be overwhelming when you are better at learning visually or through practice. Supervisors and management are supportive, they will spend time with you to assist and understand the process.

Pros

I have been working for The Perfect Playground since February 2021. In that time, I have completed my speech-language pathology clinical fellowship (CF) and have continued working full-time as a CCC-SLP. The Perfect Playground provides a supportive, fun, and family-oriented environment. The kindness, mentorship, support, supervisor, and guidance I have received and continue to receive is unmatched. The senior management team is incredible and they constantly and consistently show their outpouring of support and kindness, and they are always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. I am so happy to be part of The Perfect Playground family and always recommend this wonderful workplace! #TeamTPP

Cons

For me, the only downside to working for The Perfect Playground is the monthly pay, though, I wouldn't necessarily consider it a "con"!

Pros

- Support compared to a previous agency I worked for is unparalleled. Having a direct supervisor to bounce questions off of and being able to network with the other new therapists I've met has really made me more confident in my skills. - Access to free online courses (with CEUs!) is really valuable as a new therapist - Management have all been long-time therapists and they care about their therapists. I have been called directly by both the Director and Operations Manager to check in on me a few times after difficult days to offer advice, solutions, and anecdotes of their own time in the field as therapists. - Travel Stipend

Cons

- No PTO - Documentation, but this is the nature of pediatric OT in NY
