I’ve noticed several challenges that affect both employee morale and the overall efficiency of operations. Promotions often seem to overlook hard-working employees in favor of those with less effort or availability, which can lead to frustration and a sense of unfairness among the team. Additionally, management struggles to address conflicts between employees effectively, which allows tensions to escalate into unnecessary disagreements or even serious confrontations. There’s also a significant lack of training, leaving employees feeling unprepared to handle their roles effectively. Combined with outdated equipment and buildings in poor condition, this makes daily tasks more difficult and less efficient. Staffing levels are often insufficient due to “budget constraints”, which increases the workload for everyone and impacts the quality of service we provide to guests. Supervisors are overworked and underpaid, and many feel unsupported by management in handling the pressures of their roles. Upper management, above the operations managers, seems disconnected from these challenges, focusing more on budgets or administrative concerns rather than addressing the real needs of the team. Furthermore, employees are sometimes blamed for mistakes that aren’t their fault, which damages morale and trust within the organization.
