Pros

Phenomenal company culture with motivational leadership and opportunities for growth. I am in my seventeenth year of employment with The Salem Group and I still look forward to coming to work each and every day! No two days are ever exactly the same in this industry! Executive management is connected and takes an active role in mentoring employees. They are transparent and want to see employees succeed. Here at Salem, I have found challenges, opportunities, but most of a collaborative team environment that truly exemplifies the company’s core values of integrity, action, urgency and excellence!

Cons

The downsides of working for a company like The Salem Group are few and far between for the worker that is self-motivated and determined to succeed. This is not the right company for someone who wants to "hide-out" and not be held accountable for their responsibilities.

A dynamic and rewarding company to work for

Pros

The Salem Group is a dynamic organization that takes great pride in their employees. The opportunities and experiences that actualize are exceptional and of course a direct result of one’s efforts. Expectations on the team are high but so are the rewards. Everyone within the organization has a voice and the company’s strong core values permeate throughout every level within the organization. Executive management puts tremendous faith in their employees and offer exceptional training, support and mentoring. Recognition of achievement, as well as potential, is high at Salem. Entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged and fostered through the empowerment each individual is bestowed. As a company, Salem has multiple divisions and locations but never loses focus on the principle of “one company, one team.” The corporate executives have developed an organization that interacts seamlessly among divisions and locations resulting in a powerful client-focused, results-oriented, and no-excuses organization focused on growth and success for their staff, assignment employees and clients.

Cons

Though not much of a con, being such a dynamic company has its obstacles. One of those being, an organization with so many great goals and objectives it is often difficult to prioritize such. Prior and current results show priorities are set, met and completed more now than ever before with great additions made to the teams.

The best career move I ever made

Pros

I love being a team member at Salem. I've never worked somewhere where everyone, from the company leaders to the newest member of the team, are more engaged, passionate & totally committed to providing our clients and all stakeholders with truly great service. The environment is fully collaborative, and team members are encouraged - and expected - to bring their best ideas, best energy, and best selves every day. The company is diverse in all aspects, with the common denominators being passion and relentless drive, with everyone grooving off each other's positivity and commitment. This environment is one in which everyone is an active participant in driving success and achieving new heights - which is why we achieved our best year ever in 2012, and are poised to top that achievement this year. Salem is a place where winners are celebrated, rewarded, and continually acknowledged. There's nowhere I'd rather be.

Cons

Salem's culture is one of super achievers and super successes. While that's a pro for our current staff, it could be considered a "con" for someone who is satisfied being average & who is not driven to stretch to come through for clients and candidates. If hiding out, watching the clock, or simply collecting a paycheck are what you're seeking, then Salem definitely is not the place for you. If, however, you're someone who makes things happen, who drives progress, and who is intensely committed - you'll be right at home... and you'll be in great company. Our culture is laser-focused on going the extra mile to excel & be great. The tempo, the standards - the bar is set high. If you enjoy bringing your best self to work every day, being an active participant in continuous improvement, you'll be thrilled here. If you'd rather be a casual bystander or an observer, look elsewhere. "Pretenders" don't last long here - but those who drive success and progress enjoy careers that span decades - and the rewards that come with it.
