Pros

Great people to work with at the Oak Brook location. Company is doing very well.

Cons

Was hired on, and sent to the chicago office for training. Then one of the recruiters took me out for lunch and we talked about food, and i talked about hispanic food since I was eating tacos at lunch. She took offense to my comment about me liking mexican food, and went off and told her boss that I made an uncomfortable comment about mexicans which was complete BS. Then my phone broke down, and couldn't use it at all that week. Couldn't get to the train station from where I lived and the company let me go because i had a no call no show and because of my so called inappropriate comment which was completely false. Now i know Salem Group is reading this so I want you to understand something very carefully here. Why on earth would I or anyone want to jeopardize their future when they have only been with the company for only 4 days, and I even emailed the managers letting them know I couldn't make it to the train station. I have never felt like crap like that in a long time. The company is not understanding to your life situation. Oh and the training in Chicago office, they need to have it more structured and organized where you don't just have the new recruiter jumping from doing reference checks, workflows which is sending the tests to candidates, then give a list of candidates to call that have an irrelevant background to the job that you want the recruiter working on.

While you were with our company for only 4 days of training and orientation, we certainly wish you well in your future employment endeavors and hope that you are able to successfully navigate the issues that prevented you from being able to return to work and continue on in your training at our organization.

Pros

I have worked contractual, and I have worked for other agencies in my long career. I have never worked for an agency like Salem! Salem doesn't merely place "bodies" in a seat. Salem places you in a position where you can utilize your skills and qualifications. They placed me in a position that was tailor made for me. The people and the company which I am placed at, don't treat me like a "temp." I feel truly valued by them, and most of all, Salem. I never have a long wait when it comes to communicating with Salem. Salem is, in my book, a family. Not just a "staffing agency." Because of Salem's high standards, and the way I personally fel about Salem, a person has to really have the skills, qualifications, and the right attitude for me to recommend them. Salem truly is a great company to work for!

Cons

I really can't think of any!
