Pros

It's great to be associated with the Washington Post brand and to see the changes that have taken place in the journalism and the ways to distribute it, especially over the past 2-3 years.

Cons

Overall I like the new work space, but not everyone is into the open environment. This leads to difficulty sometimes holding a conversation with a colleague while other people are working nearby. There are never enough places available for holding an impromptu conversation.

Thank you for taking time to write a review. We love hearing about our employees’ positive experiences and we're honored you're proud to work at The Washington Post. Thanks for your feedback about the open office space. We do have a number of huddle rooms and other rooms for people to have private conversations, but we'll pass this onto our team as they reevaluate conference room space. Thanks again for your review and choosing to be part of The Washington Post team!

Thanks for the feedback on career advancement and training. We encourage our employees at The Washington Post to take a pro-active, self-guided approach to career development. Because we’re building the future of media and media technology, everyone gets hands on experience working on real projects and much knowledge and training emerges from that. Our HR shop is pro-active in providing many in house training opportunities and support employees who want to pursue career development. Hope this sheds some light on it, but we'll pass on your feedback. We can always grow and do better. Thank you for choosing to be part of The Washington Post team!

Good pay, bad morale

Pros

The pay is great, triple time on holidays. No time clock so we get to slip out a little early at times.

Cons

Every little incident is blown out of proportion. Even incidents that are proven to be based on a misunderstanding will have you under a microscope for years. Some managers seem to think it's not their job to manage but to reduce head count for spurious reasons.
