Wonderful work, heavy hours

Pros

Honestly, the best job I've ever had. It's fun, coworkers are brilliant, and even the editors can be alright. And regional reporters will be happy to hear that, yes, the Washington Post name makes it more likely sources will return your calls, especially in DC.

Cons

The big problem with doing what you love, or with doing a job that millions of others would be thrilled to be doing, is that the pay won't be the best and the hours will be insane. I feel like I have to outwork all the thousands of underemployed reporters out there who would love to do my job for less.
