Pros

It is very clear that Thermo Fisher Scientific values their employees. They take the yearly survey feedback seriously and are continually striving to make the company better for their customers and employees. The pay is good, the PTO is great and the COVID bonuses provided to all employees were more than generous. They set realistic budgets and goals that are attainable unlike previous companies I've worked for where they set your goal incredibly high to avoid having to pay bonuses/commissions. I am never worried about job stability and have coworkers and managers that I can trust and rely on. There is also a lot of opportunity to move around the company if you want.

Cons

The company can be difficult to navigate due to its size. The health insurance plan is okay, although a bit expensive. This is offset by a generous contribution from the company into our HSA/HRA.

Pros

Company offers a pretty good 401k plan with 6% match, WFH opportunity depending on manger, 15 days PTO (no sick time though), 3 floating holidays, 5% discount ESPP, very good tuition reimbursement, 4%-8% performance bonus (recently added) and pretty good benefits offered through Cigna. This is a great company that has had some great growth from an investment standpoint in recent years and is expected to continue growth in the long term plan. Not many days that you are expected to work over 8 hours, but occasionally this does happen.

Cons

The organization is very stingy with raises from what I have experienced. Been at the organization some time now and haven't gotten a raise since I started. Definitely something to consider when negotiating salary in the hiring process. The company also has very convoluted data that is very difficult to work with, not much standardization in regards to how to handle the data to ensure accuracy of reporting. A lot of communication is done through conference calls and there are a lot of fire drills that need to be handled on a day to day basis (this is common anywhere when working with sales people). Management needs to understand the jobs that the employees are faced with better and work on developing employees on a higher level training. Onboarding seems to be low level and doesn't really help since most issues are relatively complex. Sales Directors pretty much run the show at this company and at times ask for some really complex reports that could be simplified or standardized if the company would upgrade some of their internal business systems. Seems like there are a lot of job postings but not much internal movement. Company likes to bring in a lot of people from outside and keep people in their current roles.

Pros

Dedicated team members, passionate interdisciplinary design team. Supportive management. Positive outlook for growth. Interesting and impactful problems to solve with design.

Cons

As a company made up of many acquired business units, it can be challenging to integrate design well within the many different business units and locations. The team is growing rapidly (which is a good), but this also leads to a lot of disorganization, moving targets for success and unanswered questions about how design will be scaled effectively and efficiently within the much much larger global organization.
