Pros

The other research staff is great, and thursday happy hours are a fun chance to talk with other intelligent 20-somethings. We frequently go out to different NYC bars or order in -- either way, its usually a fun time. Also, you'll gain a fairly broad understanding of many different industries, giving you a generalist background.

Cons

The biggest con of this job is the management -- they tend to be very micromanaging on projects (updates every hour!). Additionally, there has been a revolving door of associates for the past 3 months, with someone leaving almost every week. Although we have been able to rapidly hire new people, with that level of turn-over, the office has a "crisis mode" feeling and makes the office environment quite tense. Some of the largest accounts are now being handled by people who have only been with the company for 3 months because they are the most senior person on the team.

Pros

If you enjoy sales, you will enjoy this work. It is entirely made up of cold calling

Cons

Management loves to misrepresent the job when hiring, it needs to be understood that this is a call-center, cold calling position. You are not doing research, and you have no real actual connection to consulting, private equity, or anything of that nature. You are cold-calling, and doing SALES. Your targets for this company will only be achievable to you if you are doing 50-100 cold calls a day. Unless you wish to do sales, absolutely stay away from this job. You will have no career path or learnable skills outside of sales after working in this position. You will be stuck on a sales floor, and expected to cold call for 9-10 hours everyday. Rinse, repeat.

Thank you for your feedback. We recognise that the role involves follow-ups and cold calling, as we’re client-facing, and we aim to ensure our team members have the support they need to succeed in this fast-paced environment. Whilst this is the case, we know that our compensation and benefits offering is competitive and employee-focused to reflect this (including compensation and uncapped bonus schemes!). We also strive to be as transparent as possible about the day-to-day responsibilities in our job descriptions, so that we attract the right people for the role. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review.

Pros

Only pro is you will know clearly what you don’t want in a future job.

Cons

This job is horrible and the company is doing nothing to make it a better experience. They will overwork you and talk down on you if you don’t hit a performance target that measures nothing about your actual strengths. They don’t appreciate anything you do if you don’t bring in revenue, and they will not acknowledge that how well you do is based on luck. Getting promoted is not impressive, it’s inevitable, because everyone else leaves and those left move up. If you are straight out of college, do your mental health a favor and find something else worth your time and effort, unless you are very desperate and have to accept the offer in the meantime while you find something you actually like.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We are sorry your experience at Third Bridge isn’t what you were looking for. We take feedback seriously and you’ve raised some points that we want to address. We recognise that an environment with lots of feedback, exposure to fast-paced research projects, target-driven and a lot of exposure to senior leadership both within our organisation and outside isn’t for everyone. We illustrate what this looks like in our interview process with hands-on, realistic examples of the kind of contribution you’d be making every day. This has been updated recently, and may not have been your experience, but we’re confident this structure provides much more clarity on the role. While we are a feedback and metrics driven organisation, we know how critical it is that our managers create a motivating and supportive environment for their teams. Managers go through in-depth management training, including wellbeing support, and we have a host of benefits available to allow our teams to relax and recharge too, including: personal days, wellbeing events, physical and mental therapy, mental health first aiders and volunteering days. We work hard to create an inclusive and safe environment where if people are struggling, they have a number of places they can go to for support. If you have any additional suggestions as to how we can improve, we would welcome a further conversation. Feel free to reach out to us at team@thirdbridge.com.
