Stressful - This is a high pressure role and I sometimes found myself in tears at work. Competitive between peers - Instead of promoting a team approach, Associates were all pitted against each other, with their performance against their targets displayed in a list in number order for everyone to see. Poor work-life balance - I worked an hour or two overtime nearly every day. I was also told I had to respond to our clients within half an hour until 10pm each night, meaning it was hard to relax or switch off and clients felt entitled to my free time. The company would promote mental wellbeing as a focus for employees but the culture there meant I felt I had to put myself under significant stress just to achieve ‘normal’ results. Short-staffed and constantly changing staff - many people tended to burn out in 1-2 years of working in this role so there was a high staff turnover and simply not enough people working on the projects we were being sent.
