Decent exposure to a lot of industries
Pros
- A lot of responsibility early on - Opportunity to learn basic business skills (eg time management, communication skills both internal and external) - Diverse colleagues you can learn a lot from - Beautiful office in London - Decent 1st job, gives you a platform to take your career further
Cons
- Gets boring and repetitive - Isn't mentally challenging "research" is very surface level - Can use the same skills and make much more money elsewhere. You're essentially in a pseudo-inbound sales role with extra hoops to jump through to earn that commission. The playing field was vastly uneven across the organisation which did not help. If you want to make lots of money, put your efforts elsewhere (at least at an entry level). If you're driven by non financial goals and like other incentives, this could work for you. I just prefer extra cash to breakfasts, holidays and social events. - Take with a pinch of salt, as a lot has probably changed in the last couple of years
