Pros

- very responsive top management in NYC & London who allow secondments to London, New Delhi or Shanghai - quick growth opportunities to become a manager for the daring and hard working - great location: fashion district, Times Square, Bryant Park within 5min reach

Cons

- hit or a miss with the quality of Team Leader you get to work with but even the bad experience is highly useful to learn what kind of manager not to be - long work hours BUT this is Manhattan, everyone seems to be working hard

CognoLink has grown and developed with high standards over the past year. Extensive training will develop new skills. Relationship management with high level executives and clients. Independent success measured in projects. Excellent across-industry learning opportunity. International environment and diverse community of employees. Dynamic work environment and new daily cases/challenges.

Cons

High pressure work environment and timelines. Face time and perception is important.

Pros

The other research staff is great, and thursday happy hours are a fun chance to talk with other intelligent 20-somethings. We frequently go out to different NYC bars or order in -- either way, its usually a fun time. Also, you'll gain a fairly broad understanding of many different industries, giving you a generalist background.

Cons

The biggest con of this job is the management -- they tend to be very micromanaging on projects (updates every hour!). Additionally, there has been a revolving door of associates for the past 3 months, with someone leaving almost every week. Although we have been able to rapidly hire new people, with that level of turn-over, the office has a "crisis mode" feeling and makes the office environment quite tense. Some of the largest accounts are now being handled by people who have only been with the company for 3 months because they are the most senior person on the team.
