The Employment-At-Will policy is standard for employers in Massachusetts and is not specific to Thom Child and Family Services. To clarify, all states in the U.S. except Montana are at-will employment states. This means that the employment relationship between the employee and the employer can be ended by either the employee or the employer at any time with or without notice or cause. This is why an employee is able to resign their position with or without notice without any repercussions. At Thom Child and Family Services, as with all other employers, employees are expected to comply with Thom Child and Family Services’ standards of behavior and performance and to correct any deficiencies/gaps with these standards. We believe that our employees are our greatest asset, as such, Thom Child and Family Services follows a policy of progressive discipline in which it attempts to provide employees with notice of deficiencies and an opportunity to improve. This thus gives the employees a series of opportunities and support to be successful. Where no progress is made after a series of attempts and/or a position is deemed to be not a good fit for an employee, then separation is considered. As with any other employer, there are some serious deficiencies/actions that could call for an immediate separation and all Thom Child and Family Services employees are made aware of these serious actions/deficiencies as outlined in the Thom Child and Family Services Employee Handbook. We appreciate all constructive feedback, as it helps us continuously improve and enhance the employee experience. However, we would like to clarify that the position title mentioned in your review does not align with any roles that have ever existed within our organization. Additionally, the hierarchical structure described does not reflect our agency’s organizational framework. We also note that your original review included a title that impersonated an existing employee, which led to its removal by Glassdoor. Following this, the review was resubmitted under a different, yet still non-existent, job title.
