Pros

Great in-person training. Great support paying you hourly to study for and obtain your life/health insurance, annuity, series 7 & 66 licenses.

Cons

Recruiter only interested in getting you to sign up and share your complete contact lists with the company - personal, business, social media. Company requires you to give them passwords for all your social media accounts, and has control of them for a period after you leave the company. Recruiter does not provide the support promised to go with you on sales/service calls during the initial 12 weeks after licensure and training. Compensation & commissions much lower than promised. Hard to move to another financial organization since they lock your contacts shared with the company for a period of time.

Leadership turmoil causing instability

Pros

great benefits, flexible working options including remote or mobile, Fortune 300 company with the accompanying features and perks, nice buildings if you choose to work in the office, good volunteer options and time off policy,

Cons

constant turnover in all levels of leadership has recently caused very unstable times in an organization that was once great, uninspiring president, actions do not reflect the virtuous image they project - just get things done regardless of the impact to employees; diversity amongst the technology side of the company is strongly weighted with men - typically men that previously worked together at other companies and now come to Thrivent to work for the new leadership; no longer feels based in Christian foundations

Toxic Environment

Business Outlook

Pros

Benefits are okay, vacation time is good

Cons

Toxic environment, a lot like high school. You never do what your actual job description is. Expected to get 80 hours of work done in 40 hours, plus go to 6 hours of meetings a day. No managerial support; show favoritism to certain employees. There is definitely and "I" in team there.
