Pros

Believes in generosity and clearly demonstrates it by providing volunteer time off as well as personal time off.

Cons

Slow to take action. I've been in a lot of personal development workshops since I started but once people leave the classroom, the basics of what we learned go out the door. Young talent is starting to take note of antiquated work practices and hierarchical development strategy.

Pros

Well established, loyal client base. Everyone networks through Lutheran church affiliations. It used to be you had to be a Lutheran to buy their products, now anyone can purchase. Great marketing strategy.

Cons

Top earners will steal your sale, if they can manipulate it. No real book of leads, just old, tired, already well-insured stale clientele. Often their accounts need servicing which does not pay. You get a set salary, which gets deducted from any sales. Hassle you for a new book of 100 contacts of your closest friends and family

Pros

Thrivent is full of committed employees that honor the business' mission. No drama, people are very polite and accommodating. Very committed customer base. A fraternal brotherhood, it is keenly aware of the audience it caters to.

Cons

Company is overly solied and split between two campus in Minneapolis and Appleton, Wis. A majority of the staff are legacy employees who have been there 10, 20 or 30 years, which inhibits any outside perspective. Very slow moving to embrace new strategies, technology. Feels stuck in the 2000s.
