Pros

I get to combine my faith with my career, and help people at the same time.

Cons

As a middle manager in the field, too many hats are needed to be worn, creating gaps in efficiency. Work/Life balance is difficult to achieve if you want to be compensated fairly for managing your area of Reps.

Pros

Good work environment. You have freedom to plan your own schedule as a field sales rep. Everyone is pleasant and your customers are very welcoming.

Cons

Upper mgmt. gears success and rewards by numbers only. While they tell you to give excellent service to all of your accounts the commission grid says otherwise. There isn't much help or incentive for small producers. They change their compensation on products when ever they want to so it makes it hard for new reps to make a decent living.

Pros

Community-service oriented, membership organization with its own revenue stream. Fiscally stable, one of the few companies with a pension you know will be there when you retire. Strong work-life balance culture. Great benefits - 4+ weeks off per year, plus 10 holidays, volunteer days, wellness programs, pension, 6% matching 401(k), lots of community service opportunities. You can also feel good at the end of the day knowing the company is about providing security for their members.

Cons

Part of its upside of being so stable is that it is slow to change. Definitely going through some big changes right now which will shake things up but there are many people who have worked there for 25+ years. This can be both a good and bad thing.
