Pros

I came over because of a specific underwriting manager and she’s fantastic. I’m staying because of her.

Cons

Northerners…ok for some to have the short conversations and no real relationship with coworkers, but it has taken a toll on my sweet southern soul. Almost 2 years later and on multiple projects and collaboration teams and I still feel alone because my adavances toward genuine friendship have been rebuffed.

Pros

Telecommuting Medical Benefits Amazing lunch room and staff!

Cons

Usually, your way into this company is if you know someone or taking a job in the call center. I would not recommend anyone working in the call center for many reasons. One is that they brag about how much PTO they give but you aren’t allowed to take it unless you plan the year before. Taking last-minute PTO any time can be a struggle even for doctor appointments. They will give you instances if you need to take time off if time is not available. This is including important family issues or even a doctor appointment and exceptions are not made. HR also allows managers in the call centers to lie and belittle people to keep them in their jobs. They are allowed to continuously sabotage good people from leaving the role to another job within the company. You must leave to get any career development and the pay will be much better as well. There is little to no work-life balance and even changing the time you want to work is very difficult. They will also hire new people at higher pay than those who have been with the company for many years. I have also heard the same behavior in Health Claims and New Business areas so also avoid roles in these departments. I am sure that since this behavior is allowed in so many departments that there is an issue company-wide. Most are working from home now and are not allowed to come back to the office still, but the company provides no telecommuting benefit even though this option saves them tons of money. Instead, they send boxes with items with their logo on them as appreciated. I would suggest finding another place to work and do not waste as much time as I did with this company.
