Favoritism runs amok

Pros

Great company overall- very involved in the community, gives millions annually, benefits are good, especially having both 401k & pension that are company funded. Generous PTO & VTO

Cons

The current leadership in IT is very heavily based in favoritism & only promotes those in favor with leadership. It’s very demoralizing for those working hard but not getting noticed or promoted. VPs & Directors claim to value innovation but have a very fixed mindset about their opinions of people. There are people in people leader roles that have no experience and treat their employees poorly- avoiding one on ones, not dealing with conflict & putting unrealistic / unstated expectations on staff.

Pros

As an employee at Thrivent Financial, I've found it to be a truly enriching experience, characterized by a wonderful blend of culture and meaningful work. Thrivent fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where employees are encouraged to collaborate and innovate. The emphasis on making a positive impact in the lives of clients and communities adds a sense of purpose to our work that is both fulfilling and inspiring. While there may be areas where improvement is needed, such as streamlining certain processes or enhancing communication channels, the overall atmosphere at Thrivent is one of positivity and growth. The organization invests in the development of its employees, offering ample opportunities for professional advancement and personal growth. I appreciate the emphasis on work-life balance and the flexibility afforded to employees to achieve it. Thrivent truly values its employees and recognizes the importance of maintaining a healthy equilibrium between work and personal life. In summary, Thrivent Financial is a wonderful place to work, where culture, meaningful work, and opportunities for growth converge. With a commitment to continuous improvement, Thrivent is poised to remain a top employer in the financial services industry.

Cons

Working for a company that is overly complex and fragmented across numerous teams can present significant challenges. Communication barriers often emerge, hindering collaboration and efficiency. With teams focusing on different priorities, achieving alignment becomes increasingly difficult, leading to delays in decision-making and project execution.
