If Myspace and Blackberry Ltd were to have a baby, it'd be a TiVo. TiVo is that old friend that's always about to turn their life around. Lose weight, stop smoking, go back to school, etc... for years the stock is about to take off and the company is going to finally make a profit... except, each year... nothing. No profits No bonuses No 401K match The cars in the parking lot in Alviso keep getting broken into Company closes during the holidays and that time comes out of your vacation balance HR pushes employees to rate it as a great place to work

Although TiVo is a relatively small company, it has a management chain, bureaucracy and politics that you would expect to see only in big corporations. Management is afraid to make decisions and as a results meetings end with no outcomes because no one had the guts to take a decision. The week after the same people meet to talk about the same topics again with no decisions. I have spent weeks in meetings and discussions that could have been resolved in hours elsewhere.
