Pros

Benefits, Salary, Recognition, Values, Carrier

Cons

Benefits are Fairly good. They used to be good, now they are expensive. Salary is good if you started with the Company more than eight years ago. The Company uses what they call PMP (Performance Management Process) to rate each employee. This will dictate what kind of salary raise the employee will have. The bad side of this is, that they will use it they way it will work best for them. Many years ago it was use as a tool to help on the employee individual development, now is used as a tool to control what that employee earns. The PMP was used to recognize the employee's real performance, now is used to point out what the employee is not doing. One very interesting thing about the PMP is that I said, it was really used as a personal development tool. In this era it is used to add more responsibilities to the employee. The employee has to choose three things that he/she would like to learn. After the accomplished that they become part of the employee's responsibilities. This goes on year after year. There are no limits for them, but every person has a limit. If the employee can't expand his limits, he will be ruled out. The VALUES were focus on having a healthy, friendly, and happy working environment. But DO NOT get sick. If you do, go to work. If you are sick during work, don't leave even if management tells you to go. You will be penalized and they will say that they did not say that. You will get an advisory memo. For those who have kids; watch out for being late because your kid had some trouble at school. Forget about you family or they will get you for that. Just remember that management are the only ones that are allowed to be late or get sick. DISCRIMINATION? After all they are the ones without supervision! Watch out for the cameras! The policy states that the cameras will only be used for surveillance purposes. Management uses them to spy on all employees, even though this is ILEGAL. Tiffany & Co. was a GREAT company that everyone was proud to be part of. All employees felt that they were valued. All this changed when an investors group took over. Now only money talks. The great values that we were once part of have been changed for money. And money is not bad, actually is very good. Is what you do with it or what you do for it that becomes the bad. Carrier wise, non existent!

Pros

- Great work life balance (My hours were 9-6 most days + ~2 hours/ week of evening conference calls on average) - Employee discounts (esp. deals at the Employee store) - Great brand name to have on resume (cool socially too) - One of the friendlier working environment within retail

Cons

- Pay wasn't great; no performance bonus for non-managers - Slow career progression/ no set career path - NY HQ too conservative and reluctant to give autonomy to regional offices, causing a lot of delay in decisions, and also talented employees to leave due to frustration with the bureaucracy
