You'll learn a lot but company leadership is very poor
Pros
- You'll get used to working really fast (the same output that would take you a week at a competitor, you'll learn to do in a day at TikTok). - Company doesn't use email or make Google slides / PPT - saves a ton of bureaucratic time. Focus is on IM, and creating simple docs. - Very young people are trusted to lead teams and manager-of-managers, much younger than you would see at a FAANG company
Cons
-Pay at TikTok seems to be less than competitors across nearly every single role. - You'll work longer hours at TikTok than other companies - You'll often be expected to work weekends - Leadership is poor; specifically Sales leadership and Product leadership. Sales leadership tends to be very micro-managey. Product leadership seems to be unreceptive to feedback from non-product teams.
