Pros

Your peers are some of the nicest you'll ever work with

Cons

Tillster used be called EMN8, it was acquired by a small private equity/vc firm called "Sid R. Bass Associates" and the current CEO hails from said firm. Every negative stereotype about private equity raiding businesses plays out here. Tillster serves solely to make the firm money while screwing anyone and anything that comes in the way of that. If you work here you'll find: * The tech stack is very antiquated * Working insane hours to support their clients (10h+ a day, weird hours, etc… are the norm). They'll tell you its no longer like that. That's a lie. It doesn’t matter your role you'll be expected to be devoted to them 24/7/365. Work-life balance is non-existent. * There is no upward growth. Investing in their employees is just an unnecessary cost. If you manage to succeed to the point you merit a promotion you won't be supported or placed in a environment where you can flourish. * They do the bare requirements for their employees. No 401k matching, terrible insurance, mediocre pay. Likewise getting even an adjustment in pay to match inflation(2%) involves you performing well above average. * If you do merit a pay raise you'll wait for 6-12 months for it actually take affect. During that time you'll be promised it will take affect retroactively and to not worry. That’s a lie, its not retro, and good luck ever getting them to actually increase your pay(This is an ACTUAL STORY from more than a few employees). This seems to be a common strategy to steal money from their employees. * There have been some people who have tried to leave and have been talked into accepting a part time contract to continue working with as an independent contractor. They are routinely not paid in a timely fashion (1-3 months after receipt of invoice) * If you accept a straight contract rather than full time time, same story.. expect to have to fight to be paid in a timely fashion Other points to note: * They routinely fail to pay their vendors. Expect a fire when a service threatens disconnection(like their Amazon bill) * Read the positive reviews. They're all written in the same fashion. They're fake and come from the HR department. * In the 3 years that I worked here I never once met the CEO. There is no leadership or direction coming from management. Come in in the morning and work your queue and that’s your life.

Pros

People at Tillster are amazing - My peers in different teams, my boss, my bosses boss, HR and execs just amazing people to work with! And I've had opportunity to build my team that I lead to build automated cloud infrastructure. I feel valued every morning I start work. Company is talking true DevOps approach of building automated cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes and solid CI / CD. As well as jump exploring new technologies such as AWS serverless infrastructure and AWS codebuild, honestly DevOps heaving to advance In tech. Remote or in office opportunity.

Cons

Company is growing fast, products are been developed, so this means a lot of work but I think company is going in a right approach to establish work life balance for it's employees.
