Pros

There are still a few individuals who truly know what they are doing and genuinely want to get the company healthy. Despite everyone is always dealing with their own emergencies, people do try to help when you ask for assistance. If you're talented and motivated, you could quickly move up in the ranks.

Cons

Tillster lacks the maturity one would expect from a professional software company. Company teams and leadership is too fragmented. A lack of processes and proper QA contribute to a chaotic and inefficient environment. It is well known throughout the company that several of our customers cost us more than they bring in yet more infrastructure is put in place (at Tillster's cost) and teams are distracted from more important ( likely profitable ) engineering efforts. We keep loosing too many of our engineers due to poor work/life balances and a lack of realistic planning. Who knows if venture capitalists will pull out funding once the Federal Reserve starts increasing interest rates and putting a stop to recent years of monetary policy.

Management needs to allow a quality product to be released

Pros

Product has potential, and a good percentage of the employees work towards excellent results

Cons

Upper management does not allocate sufficient time nor energy towards a complete product. Too often deadlines are unreasonable, so major components are not fully implemented at time of deployment. There is currently insufficient time and energy dedicated to up time on hosted services, nor is there an actual plan in place to implement a monitoring solution.

Bordering on a hostile work environment at times

Pros

Some (a select few) are pleasant to work with. The pay is decent, and the benefits are also decent. It is nice to have snacks provided. In some ways it has a "start-up company" feel to it.

Cons

People will disrespect you just because they don't know your background. Some of them think they are just plain better than you for some reason. I am not sure how it started, but it's been perpetuated over time. Come on, people...we're supposed to be a TEAM! And I thought I finished high school years ago... For an example of some of this attitude, see the review titled “Wounded company hampered by old-fashioned leadership.” And to think that this person gets paid to work there. A real smile-to-your-face-and-stab-you-in-the-back type. I can see saying that you are unhappy with management decisions or something like that, but to talk behind your team mates' backs...bad form! Invite this person to a barbecue and they might show up and spit in your guacamole. Behind your back, of course. Hell, I have seen people who are downright insulting to work with get promoted. So it's not surprising that such a bad attitude is perpetuated. Plus, we have the whole open office thing. I guess that way we have a clear view of potentially duplicitous co-workers.
