Pros

It's a small plant and the work is relatively easy, as long as you're willing to learn, can add and subtract, and work with decimals you will be fine.

Cons

Some of leadership is becoming toxic, morale is the lowest I've seen in a while. If you can get a 1st shift job you're golden. But if you're on 2nd or 3rd, you'll be screwed 6 ways to Sunday at some point. They don't care about people's lives or schedules outside Timken. Switch from 8 hour to 10 hour shifts, sure! Cut out a whole shift and move people around, sure! Go from working 13 days on 1 day off for close to a year to having no overtime at all, running out of work, and sending people home, yep!

Not great

Pros

Anthem BCBS PPO was offered as insurance. It was okay, but copays and certain prescriptions could be pricey. Pay was decent, hours were consistent.

Cons

Toxic work environment. Sub par supervisors and managers. (They obviously have no experience whatsoever and cannot help employees with basics) HR department is an absolute joke. None of them should be qualified to run anything in there. (They promise benefits on day one, you won’t see them until 90 days in. And even when you have accumulated PTO, they tell you that you don’t have it.) Everyone has nicknames for upper management and it’s not good. The employees make fun of upper management on every break they have. And sexual harassment is never taken care of. More than one instance of that happening. Finally, mandated OT that was not optional. Even if you go above and beyond, and the rest of your “team” is slacking, everyone is punished with mandated OT.

Pros

Great community with lots of ways to get involved. Good pay and benefits with a lot of room for growth. 2 work-from-home days per week.

Cons

Will work you hard. Being busy is a big part of the culture.
