This school should not be operating. It is an absolute shame the way these children are being set up for failure. The lack of appropriate academic response to COVID, ridiculous turnover rate and terrible pay are a recipe for disaster which results in children up to the 12th grade that cannot read or do basic math. Admin will pass students along from grade to grade because it’s how Metcalf lines his pockets. They over-enroll ELL and SpEd students because we get more grant money, but do t provide the staff to back it up. Their IEPs and 504s are all out of compliance, and the way they handle DCS cases is a joke. One teacher was even knowingly grooming a student and faced no repercussions. They consistently screw over the most marginalized students and give teachers zero incentive to stick around, which was why I was the 15th teacher in grades 7-12 to leave this year.

The schools in the hood. 99% black. This is a troubled school with much of the culture being influenced by BLM. Extremely racist, the n*word is about as common as the failing grades.
