Pros
If you're still a junior in the tech space, looking to get more AE and mid market experience then this would be a pretty decent stepping stone. The teammates and even some managers are cool human beings. Most reps are supportive and fun to work with. They provide lunches for days that you come in. If you have a good territory, you will do well.
Cons
If there was ever a definition for a "mid" company (middle of the pack), it would be tipalti. They believed they had a larger TAM with a good product market fit and then shot themselves in the foot when they over hired AEs and then realized that they can't support a lot of the customer requests during the post sales process. Strict 3 days in the office. And for days you're not in office, they will monitor your laptop to ensure you're being "productive". Upper management is out of touch with the reality of the market conditions. Yet there is no mention about quota adjustments and just "dial more and more activity" will solve the issue. Signing on a new client is one thing, but getting them to start with us is a whole new hurdle that AEs must go through because integrations just isn't there yet for certain ERPs. If you're a tenured AE, there are better companies out there. If you're a junior looking to get more sales and mid market exposure, then this would be a good stepping stone. They've been having issues retaining employees recently, but they still haven't figured out why. *hint* it could be compensation related. Comp use to be good but now it's competitive again and they're not keeping up with other companies.
