Pros

This job is relatively easy when you are working with clients who have minimal behaviors, many clients are independant and just need minor monitoring. Very similar to baby sitting.

Cons

When the company is understaffed, be expected to take on more clients than usual, be prepared for messes in your car, possible car damage, and for clients who can be verbally abusive. The pay does not fit the job description.

Pros

Lots of hours doing relatively easy work, and often involving outings or local travel

Cons

Very low pay commensurate with similar places. Have unreasonable paperwork expectations and refuse to automate any of it for some unknown reason. Not open to any suggestions or attempts to help remedy the situation.

Pros

For the most part, the staff is really friendly, a unique bunch. Everyone is open minded and is generally all there to help their clients. If fresh out of college, definitely a good place to start.

Cons

The pay and the benefits are fine, for a non profit, however not worth the stress and added work load when understaffed. Staff can easily burn out, if not given enough support. This then affects how service is provided for the clients. The overall system is outdated and everyone tends to have their own way of doing things, which can be very confusing, especially during training for new staff members.
