Pros

ESOP is tremendous. Your actual interaction with Torch in minimal which is not necessarily a bad thing. Overall a good company that treated me well.

Cons

Despite the constant rebuttal to all of these cons: The truth is as a contractor (if that is what you are) you are a hired gun. Promotion opportunities are nonexistent. You can set career goals, work with a task lead, etc etc to no avail. As a contractor, you are hired to perform a specific function. Once you outgrow that, it is time to leave. Additionally raises are sub-standard, but thats almost a given anywhere.

Pros

The work itself is exciting and engaging, and I like my coworkers. There's a generally positive company culture that promotes employee welfare. The benefits are very good, especially retirement. The company has a great interest in giving back to the community and is very philanthropic. Torch has a reputation for quality work.

Cons

Very few opportunities for advancement. It seems like the only way to get a promotion is to leave the company. The salaries are notoriously low and people leave all the time for better offers, even if they don't like the job as much. High turnover. It's also not very diverse. Very few women or POC.

Pros

Benefits are super! Health coverage costs less than most contracting agencies, terrific 401k and ESOP options, education assistance, flexible work schedules, and many more benefits to name.

Cons

Torch has a few external websites not linked together so you have to use separate links and log-ins for each site where they should be integrated in with their portal for single sign-on capability. Gets to be frustrating accessing separate websites while traveling to perform company business.
