TQL is the best opportunity a young professional that possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong work ethic. I came to TQL after getting my MBA, which is not a requirement by any means, but a number of my cohorts questioned that I was going to a company with a salary of 35k. I told them they were short sighted: The potential to make $100k+ is realistic in a relatively short time, which doesn’t happen in many fields. It is a company that takes recommendations from the employees to heart, and is constantly striving to be the best.
Cons
In striving for the best, TQL has high standards for its employees; particularly when it comes to effort. I have heard TQL called a “meat grinder” or “revolving door”, and to be honest in over 5 years I have seen a great deal of people leave… but the difference between those that go and those that stay is passion and an insatiable desire to WIN. For many that could mean social life on the back burner, which many young professionals many not want to do. TQL is a work hard, play hard company… but work has to come first. I have had to leave a social engagement early do to an issue that needed immediate attention or handle a call on Christmas morning, those expectations are given at the door: on call 24/7/365. TQL isn’t a job for the faint of heart or those with weak constitutions; TQL is the job for someone that isn’t afraid to take their work home with them, that constantly thinks about how to get to the next level, and that is persistent almost to a fault.

I have worked at TQL for 9 years and the direction and growth of our company in the past 2 years is extremely exciting! If you're looking for an opportunity to have uncapped earning potential, opportunity for career advancement, a fun and exciting work environment (our motto "we work hard and we play hard"), and many other things then you've come to the right place! So you want to make 6 figures? You can make that happen here, we've got close to 200 brokers that are slated to make that already in 2015. Career advancement? Sure, we're looking for individuals with the drive and goal of moving into management. We're opening 26 offices in 2016 and we're going to need individuals to lead and manage those offices. Is it fun to work at TQL? It's a blast!! We have a women's group that does outings and events, we have team events (golf outings, charity events, 5k's, happy hours), family events (company picnic, bring your kids to meet the Easter bunny and pancakes with Santa, petting zoos) and many more exciting things. It's never a dull moment at TQL! We have camels on Hump Day Wednesdays that come to visit the office from time to time and kangaroos that come on Hoppy Thursdays too. Our offices have ping pong tables, foosball tables, shuffleboard tables, TV's with game consoles, etc. We work hard and we play hard!!
Cons
If you're looking for a job where you can sit back and be lazy, let the business come to you instead of going after the business and work an 8-4 job....then TQL is not the place for you. This job is not for everyone. It requires an incredible work ethic, willingness to work long hours from time to time (let's face it, truckload freight is not an 8-4 gig), an unrelenting persistence to keep getting after it and a positive, won't quit attitude. If you can bring those things with you, then the training staff and leadership will help you with the rest. The training at TQL is unmatched! You will get classroom training, online training, on the job shadowing and coaching. We have the best training in the industry.
