Pros

The coworkers are great, but the stress placed on everyone makes it very hard to do more than just nod hello in the morning. There are a few who are able to socialize all the time, but these are the same people who were considered management's favorites.

Cons

They use the term start-up company to justify dumping on the employees. As others leave the company, their clients are just dropped on you and you are expected to call up to 50 clients a day. The amount of work keeps growing, and you are criticized when you ask for assistance. The management puts you off for weeks when you ask them to help you resolve an issue, which leads to unsatisfied clients that you are blamed for. They make promises of promotions, positions, and bonuses but these promises never come through. I have told friends NOT to apply here because I do not want them to go through this.

Pros

- Good onboarding, felt ramped and ready to contribute after just a few months - Wonderful team, will help you at the drop of a hat - Plenty of developer autonomy for tackling projects - Bright future for adopting best practices in project management, tech stack, CI/CD etc. - Management always open to hear new ideas from devs about technology approaches, project ideas, and what we feel is important - Business willing to pivot in order to not stay stagnant as their market evolves - Good pay - Feeling of respect, never minimized or told to approach things in a specific way

Cons

- Lots of outdated technologies and accumulated tech debt over the years - Lots of focus on internal projects and new features instead of putting resources into greenfield projects or iterating on better versions of existing apps - Putting out fires due to old codebase bugs that weren't updated / refactored - Workload can be high at times and you can feel team is understaffed, especially PM, Dev, and Design roles. Very small dev teams assigned to projects, a lot of the time you will tackle large projects solo or with another dev (but leads always willing to take the time to help out if needed)
