Pros

- There are some people here who genuinely want to give kids a good time at summer camp -Some people are well qualified to teach outdoor skills

Cons

- Upper management doesn't seem to know how to run a company of this size, regularly messed up pay for multiple people - Lower management is a complete toss up, rarely there is someone who is very skilled and wants to make sure that you are adequately supported usually its just someone who has been there for years and is in the position because no one else wanted it. - Many people don't seem to want to actually do their jobs and instead try to delegate any tasks that aren't fun (but need to be done) onto their coworkers or even campers. - People leave halfway through the summer and the company has no backups for this so they will just assign people to groups that they cannot handle - Incredibly cliquey, there are clear groups that are formed in the staff and most are not very welcoming to outsiders.

Pros

Working outdoors, learning and teaching skills.

Cons

I've worked with Trackers for years off and on. Their whole mentality is to treat employees like they are lucky to be there. The reality is far from that. The higher management staff are bribed into reluctantly coming back until they can't stand it anymore. This trickles down to lower management, who usually changes every single year. There is a strong cult mentality that favors unexperienced, trainable new people that can be groomed, over current employees that have showed skill and grit. It really seems like they don't care about their employees at all, which is alarming considering we are working with children. A few years ago we had a bus driver with no valid CDL who admitted he was on suboxone for fentanyl addiction. I'm pretty sure you all know who he is but I'm not going to name names.

Pros

So much good learning about the incredible PNW wilderness. Working with kids who are excited to learn.

Cons

The management was confusing to me. I had a new head of my section and they were I think overwhelmed.
