Pros

Fort Lauderdale office next to mall so lots of places to eat near by. First year is just 2 weeks vacation

Cons

If you are not Cuban or you don't speak Spanish you will be left out in the cold. Don't expect any huge bonuses and 401 k only given once a year.

TradeStation has 5 offices including Plantation, Florida; Richardson, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; New York City, and San Jose, Costa Rica. We employee over 500 people from all different backgrounds. South Florida (Plantation) represents a very diverse group of people and that is reflected in our office as well. English is the primary language spoken in all of our offices including Costa Rica, however you will also hear Spanish, French, German and Japanese. As part of the Japanese online financial services leader Monex Group, Inc., we are a global company and that is reflected in our workforce.

Pros

The trading industry is challenging and fun to work. Tradestation provides an opportunity to work in the industry without a lot of barriers to entry.

Cons

The organizational structure is broken with people being promoted to positions without any competency for that role. The software and system is antiquated and fragile and frequenty has issues causing mass panic among management. The benefits are almost non-existent and there is no sense of appreciation for the employee by management as they are treated as widgets in an Agile system. The Agile methodoligy used is broken and not implemented in a way that is constructive which causes confusion and loss of productivity. Real incentives are only given to top management while everyone else is given minimal raises if any and stock that vests over long periods of time. New owner, Monex, cannot decide what they want to do, so company is directionless.
