These are some of the skills they "desire" for their data editors:
Strong computer skills
Proficient use with Microsoft Windows and Office
Proficient use of Google Chrome web browser and Google Maps
Strong communication skills, verbally and written
Multitasking and attention to detail
Flexible schedule, ability to work nights and weekends
The applicant must have a high school diploma, or equivalent, with experience in using a network operation monitoring tool and moderate skills in TCP/IP and LAN/WANs. Applicants should also have some basic knowledge and skills in Microsoft Windows and Office.
*** Yet there are people in the data editor positions that clearly lack basic computer skills such as troubleshooting a network connection or even something as simple as holding down the power button on a computer. "Moderate skills in TCP/IP and LAN/WANs" Most of those editors don't even know what that means...
So although this job might seem appealing to students for its flexibility and alluring in its job description, I recommend you stay away or you will be disappointed down the road. UW student: you guys are better off finding one of the many jobs on campus, the pay will probably be better too.
