Pros

Trane Technologies genuinely stands by its commitment to innovating for a more sustainable world. Every employee, no matter their role, feels connected to the company's purpose of advancing innovation, sustainability and making an impact in communities around the globe. I know this because of the network of employees I engage with and how passionate all are about how their experiences and what gives them pride in their work. It's a workplace that you can know your contributions matter. The executive leadership team has always been authentic, approachable and deeply committed to positive change. The company culture is truly as wonderful as it sounds. Coming from toxic environments in my past, I've found Trane Technologies to be a refreshing place where I do feel valued, respected and encouraged to grow (even when things are challenging). It's a culture that fosters caring for each other and makes me want to show up as a better person, teammate and collaborator.

Cons

As with any large global organization, there are sill some silos and communication gaps across teams and regions. We really could have some better foundational systems to share information or keep teams on the same page, but changes are already underway and it's encouraging to see investments in the right places.

Unpredictable Management

Pros

Great PTO policy, 401k matching, tuition assistance

Cons

Sudden policy changes required employees who have been remote for years to return to the office. My team is distributed across the country, so I wouldn’t be in the office with my colleagues. The office I would likely need to report to doesn’t have sufficient parking for all employees affected by this policy, and it also seems to contradict the company’s emissions reduction efforts. Research shows that such policies can increase employee burnout and decrease productivity, yet management did not address these concerns when asked.

Going in the wrong direction

Pros

Salary is good Great coworkers and (for me at least) direct management Interesting work

Cons

One size fits all approach to RTO is ridiculous. Making people go to an office to be on Teams meetings to get more lunch room and water cooler interactions... I don't buy it. I think they want to trim more people without paying severance. And they'll probably succeed. They prefer to spend money on dividends and stock buybacks than to keep people on through harder times. Which is counter to the "we do stuff for the long term, not for the next quarter" message upper management consistently spouts.
