Pros

Steady career progression Young and friendly colleagues Good vacation policy, flexible with PTO Hybrid WFH is allowed Good bonus scheme After 6 months you can make flexible work requests if you want to go part-time or change your working hours slightly

Cons

They target very young people because you have no standards and possibly are more resilient. Because employee retention is not good, most teams are very “bottom heavy”. There’s little opportunities for development and no work from home allowance. Hybrid started as 1 day/week in the office, then 2 and now the minimum is 3 days, however they encourage you to go every day. Apparently the CEO is doing surprise office visits and they want to make sure employees use the offices, as they are expensive. I don’t like this because the working hours are long and there is a lot of overtime, so I would much rather WFH most days of the week. The base salary is too low and it progresses really slowly. When your title changes from Project Coordinator to Project Manager, you get a £3k increase but at your yearly review you will only be bumped by £1k. You will have to wait your next title change (Senior PM) to see a substantial change in your salary. In my opinion the yearly review increase in between is way too low to encourage employee retention. The company tries to keep employees with bonuses that are not granted. In the past 3 years, the quarterly bonuses were not paid twice. They preach “transparency at Transperfect” but it’s not 100% clear how the bonuses are rationed. Sometimes they say it’s team effort, sometimes it’s revenue. I feel like the more you show yourself and complain about how much work you do, how much overtime you do, then your bonuses do eventually get better but at the end of the day, you are getting paid the same per hour and paying it with your personal time and mental health. I don’t have a good relationship with my manager, as I never feel truly listened to, but that’s a personal situation and you may be luckier. Most manager guilt trip you if you take the full lunch break hour and you can tell most employees don’t have a personal life outside of work because there simply is no time to do so.
