Pros

- Solid culture. A place where good ideas are considered, regardless of source or title. Work from home is offered and generally embraced by senior management - A surprisingly large and diverse set of business units experiencing strong growth. The company has made some very smart, targeted acquisitions.

Cons

- Overcrowded HQ. Workspaces are cramped and private spaces are limited and in high demand - Pace of growth and acquisitions has been frenetic, and has not allowed enough time and attention for proper integration - Risk appetite is perhaps greater than it should be for a publicly traded company of this size

Pros

As long as you work in Chicago, Transunion has a great company culture, amazing benefits, good pay. They are innovative and the business is expanding and growing. Upper management is honest and in a town hall the CEO (Jim Peck) admitted publicly he had made some mistakes, and I really respect that. Mohit Kapoor (the CTO) responded to my original review, and I also really respect that, even if his response prompted me to rewrite my review and lower my rating. Importantly, if you have experience in the financial services industry and understand that for every 5 minutes of actual work you will need to do 3 hours of virtual paperwork and attend 6 hours of meetings, this company is for you.

Cons

Right now is a really horrible time to work in some departments. Avoid any "technology" based job at this company, they reek of "burn and churn." Management loves knee-jerk reactions. Transunion loves to tout their "work-life" balance, but in my year working there I burned more nights, weekends, and 65+ hour weeks than the previous four years combined.

I appreciate your additional insights and take this feedback very seriously. I know some teams experience more pressure than others and it's clear we need to focus on balancing those responsibilities. We're human - there is always room for improvement and that doesn't happen without candid feedback like yours. I'm glad you felt comfortable reaching back out. If there's anything else weighing on you, please let me know. - Mohit Kapoor, CTO
