      Was a good company but would not recommend any longer

      Pros

      The people make the company and the reason may people stay with the company. Benefits are not bad. Pay is fair.

      Cons

      Unfortunely is no longer a great place to work. Company is doing a lot of downsizing and offshoring jobs. People are their strongest asset, but upper management does not recongize their talent. Very political and favortism is rampant. Employees are now calling it the TransTanic, because the ship is sinking. Sr. Leadership is constantly traveling and have big travel expenditures, but expect everyone below them to cut back.

      Pros

      The coworkers are the best. There are still great people that work at Transamerica. The pay and flexible work schedule is good.

      Cons

      Since the announcement of the lay-offs, employee morale is very low. Departments don't work together. There are too many silos and too much political beaurocracy. Resources to make things better are scarce. Sr. Management doesn't care about their employees. Employees are afraid to speak up for fear of being let go.

      Management lacks vision and trust in the very people they hired to do the right things the right way.
